The ceremony: Our recommendation for any wedding, party or celebration is to have the ceremony or opening of the party on top of our hill, boasting a spectacular view of the Green Mountains. We can see from Mt. Mansfield to Camel’s Hump to Sugarbush to Killington. In the view, there are no roads, no power lines—just a few cabins in the far distance. You see the splendor of rural Vermont. (However, we do have a dirt road to the top of the hill so cars can drive up.)
The reception: You can set up a large tent on top of the hill for the reception, again taking in the breathtaking views of the mountains, or wander down to the dining hall building for the reception (which we call the Pavilion). The dining hall has a magnificent stone fireplace at one end, flanked by two French doors. It has a tall ceiling with exposed rafters, indirect lighting, and antique wagon wheel chandeliers. The side walls have floor-to-ceiling panels that open up and have views of the surrounding hills. The building is 100’ long and 30’ wide, with the main hall 70’ long. There is a large kitchen for final preparations by a caterer of your choice. There is easy access to the kitchen area for the caterer. The hall has two bathrooms; one is handicapped accessible.
The optimal maximum number of guests is 150. The dining hall/pavilion will be available the day before the rental date for any decorating and final preparations. We have an assortment of eclectic dining room tables (with character!) that can seat about 120 people. We have 75 banquet chairs and 100 white folding chairs.
There is plenty of parking available in our fields. The DJ or Band can play until 10:30 PM.
This is the perfect "DO IT YOURSELF" wedding site. Reasonable Fees available upon request.
"Being on top of Sky Acres makes one feel that there really must be a divine power. Also, the Pavilion with its
amazing fireplace and charming, rustic feel is the perfect counterpart to a hilltop ceremony in the sky."
